House to House Kick off (2024-2025)

Embracing the Tradition of Home-Based Fellowship

In the early days of Christianity, the vibrant and growing faith community of Jerusalem was marked by a distinctive blend of shared worship and intimate fellowship. Luke captures this beautifully in Acts 2:46, where he writes that the new believers “broke bread in their homes” and “continued to meet together in the temple courts” every day. This dual approach highlights how the early Christians balanced public worship with private, home-based gatherings.

Paul further underscores this practice in his letters. In the first century, many Christian communities found their meeting places in the homes of devoted believers. For instance, the church in Rome and Ephesus often gathered at the house of Aquila and Prisca, as mentioned in Romans 16:5 and 1 Corinthians 16:19. Similarly, in Colossae, the church met in Nympha’s home (Colossians 4:15), and Paul’s letter to Philemon is addressed to the church that met in his house (Philemon 2). These examples illustrate how early Christians utilized their homes as vital spaces for worship, teaching, and fellowship.

At Springs Lighthouse, we are committed to continuing this tradition of home-based gatherings. We recognize the profound impact that small, intimate groups can have in fostering personal connections and spiritual growth. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our House to House Community Groups, where we delve into the wisdom of Proverbs together.

Our mission is to build supportive, smaller communities within our larger congregation. By meeting in homes, we aim to encourage and uplift one another, fostering a network of believers who connect deeply and grow together in faith. Whether you’re a member of Springs Lighthouse or simply interested in exploring faith with us, you’re warmly invited to join our groups.

Let’s embrace this tradition of home-based fellowship and continue to build a strong, supportive community of believers. Together, we can grow in wisdom, faith, and mutual encouragement.
