Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.'

This simple yet profound concept is becoming increasingly rare in our society. Too often, our words lack weight and true commitment, a decline that is deeply saddening. How far we have strayed from this essential biblical principle!

Jesus emphasized the importance of integrity in our speech. In His Sermon on the Mount, He directly addressed this issue, saying, “But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.” (Matthew 5:37).

Our word should be our bond, reflecting the truth and reliability that Christ calls us to embody. Upholding this principle not only strengthens our character but also fosters trust and respect in our relationships. Let us strive to return to this timeless standard, ensuring our commitments are steadfast and sincere.

How do we do this? It starts within the church. As a community of Christian believers, we should challenge each other to confront and resist Satan daily. We must practice this principle within the Church and among ourselves, for if we cannot uphold it with one another, we will not uphold it in the world. We do not rise to the occasion but fall to the level of our training. Therefore, let us train hard and live like Jesus!
